Dot Bikini 『ドットビキニ』 short preview

Here is a preview of S/mileage new single, Dot Bikini. It is their anniversary single!

When I first heard if this song, I though of Ogawa Mana's  Mecha Motetai and SUPER GiRLS MAX! Otome Gokoro. This song, at first glance, sounds boring, and mainstream. However S/mileage effectively produces a fun loving summer idol-like song without being too generic. This will be a great comeback single, especially since their last single didn't do very well.

Suugaku Joshi Gakuen

The members of Hello!Project, Nice Girl Project and more have joined together for a new drama called Suugaku Joshi Gakuen .The drama stars Morning Musume`s Michishige Sayumi and Tanaka Reina and features just about everyone else from the agency and the Possible .

Sayu and Reina are members of a math club who wage math battles and other mischief in the school with their  factions. The only male in the school ,who gets in the middle of this madness wishes to be anyplace but math club.

Reina is really funny in this drama and gives me the feeling that she should be a Super Sentai Ranger or the female co-lead in a Kamen Rider series ,just for the comedy value. For longtime Musume fans Sayu has her dark Sayu style coming out again.

Riho also plays a big role in the drama so far.

[Lyrics] S/mileage - Choto Mate Kudasai!

Candy told me that it wasn't S/mileage's Postwoman single and their actually NEWER single that someone requested. So sorry about that. XD But here you go now! This song annoyed me at first, but I have to admit, it's really catchy now! ;)

Morning Musume 10th Gen And S/mileage

On a recent HELLOPRO! TIME there was a look at 10th gen performing as part of the new Risa leadership Morning Musume. Risa by the way has an soft way of leading her troops as it is . I think she will make a great leader and Sayumi a strong second . Good to the 9th gen are also stepping up to provide guidance .

Also on the broadcast is the wild bunch known as S/mileage which seems to be out of control high spirited bunch with 2nd generation added.

Idols on MJ

Perfume brings together the most powerful idol agencies and groups together on one show and the chaos level is high as the groups get out of control. Whatever your idol unit is, this is a must watch show for all idol fans.
For Musume fans, from the looks of things the future faces of the group are going to be Ayumi, Riho, and KY

H!P Heads Nationwide

H!P Heads Nationwide

To celebrate H!P`s Mobekimasu super unit ,they have organized a nationwide single day promotional campaign . On the October 29  all the members of the company will split up and deploy nationwide for a promotional campaign for their upcoming single "Busu ni Naranai Tetsugaku".

This nationwide campaign will include concerts and fan talk events ,there will also be restricted to pre order sales only handshake events.

In addition to the location events , members will be on 13 television shows , 5 radio shows , 15 magazine features and Sayu`s web show as part of the promotional events for this single [some of which has already started to air or have been published].

Note-This list is growing faster then I can complete this post ,UF/H!P are gong all in for this single.

Moving into November the super unit will hold a live event on the 23rd at Yomiuri Land Open Theater EAST ,called “Hello! Project☆Festival 2011“.

For some time now our media has called the move of more and more idol groups and companies making a mark on the industry “The age of idol wars” ,many fans and media outlets have wondered if or when H!P would go all in and join this fight ,it looks from this campaign ,that the decision has been made at last at least for one single ,to go all in and join the battle full force with an open checkbook.

Maeda Yuuka To Leave S/mileage

Maeda Yuuka To Leave S/mileage

Maeda Yuuka of S/mileage announced her retirement from the idol industry yesterday, and apologies for not getting this out sooner; I had things to tend to.

Yuuka has announced that her final day as an idol will be December 31, when she will have her graduation so that she can make sure that her grades and studies are at the level to pass her University entrance exams.

Yuuka explained in her announcement that since she entered high school, she has been unable to keep up with my S/mileage work and school at the same time and it has bothered me a great deal.
As time went on her desire to enter university has taken root in her heart and she came to realize that she was leading a half-hearted life and grew unhappy with how things were going .Yuuka said the following when reaching this moment to graduate “I thought to myself “Things aren’t going to work out if it keeps going like this”. “If I let these feelings continue, it would not be fair to the other members, nor to all the fans that support me.”

“I thought a lot about it. I may not be very bright but I put all my energy into thinking about this… and came up with this as the only possible option.”
S/mileage`s upcoming single will be her last as an idol and while it is sad to see any idol leave the industry so early ,she is doing what she and her family feels is best for her future , so we should all enjoy the memories she gave to everyone and the time she has left in S/mileage.

Footnote –apologies for not translating the entire retirement announcement, I much business with my own career to attend to these days and so little time to say everything that I want to.

Mobekimasu ,Hello!Project`s new super unit comprised of the members of Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou, C-ute, Mano Erina, S/mileage, and  members of Hello! Pro Egg.Have released their debut single Busu ni Naranai Tetsugaku PV

On November 16, the single will come out .The single will come in seven editions: Limited Edition A, B, C, D, E, and F, as well as a Regular Edition. Each edition will feature a specific group-coupling track, and all editions will enclose tickets for an H! P handshake event.

S/mileage Tachiagaaru PV

S/mileage Tachiagaaru PV

The first PV is out for new S/mileage, which feels just like their recently aired concert, three members of S/mileage and some back dancers.

Not surprising since H!P decided to give S/mileage their own Eggs ,instead of members .However that will change in October ,so we will see if the line distribution changes as well.

Outside of the fact the PV and line distribution looks more like S/mileage featuring backup dancers it`s a really good song and one that has that signature S/mileage sound.

From the little they got to sing in the concert the submembers bring their own style and charm points to the group .With any luck after the sub is removed from their name ,we will get the real new S/mileage and not H!P`s version of Dorothy Little Happy.

Fans expecting to see a powered up S/mileage will not get it with this song .The trigger is pulled but Tsunku has not turned them loose just yet.

[This could be the last post until the end of the Typhoon have to see what it brings]

S/mileage Sub Members Given An Entry Test

S/mileage Sub Members Given An Entry Test

Tsunku has decided that the fresh faces have to take an entry test for full membership .The sub members have take on a test called “Smile Upload Campaign” to get full membership into the group!

What this means is that the new members have to go out, take peoples pictures, just like their big sisters did, and they have to ask people to upload pictures of their smiles and send it to them via twitter, Facebook, mixi.

This is an interesting test as the members not only have to go out and have to take pictures of people, with that person's cell phone, but also get the person to upload that picture to his/her blog or twitter and post that they have done to using the S/mileage twitter tag. It`s a test of determination and courage.

The results are expected October 16
