MMJ

MMJ
Rising out of the famous Hiroshima Actors School [home of Perfume ,Riho of Morning Musume , Manaminorisa and others] comes MMJ.

MMJ have been called by Hiroshima media the AKB48 of Hiroshima and to a certain degree they are as they are the top group in Hiroshima and the surrounding region. MMJ are inspired in a way by looking up the moe ,uniform ,big unit dance abilities of AKB48 ,much in the same way rock bands have been influenced for decades by Led Zeppelin.

Being influenced , inspired by is much different than sticking a 48 after your name and being more or less a cover group and in this case MMJ`s feelings should be viewed as a complement to AKB48`s success.

Coming from such a respected school ,the expectations for the group to be talented are very high and the group meets those expectations .
Their one drawback that will likely keep them from being national idols is that all the members are 21 and over .

However given their local activities schedule and media and endorsement demands ,staying home may not be a bad thing for MMJ.

Their debut single will be released December 11

A few announcements that I need to tell you about

Site News
Well based on some mail ,it seems that the block style I had before allowed readers to find new posts or recently new posts easier and you know what ,I miss the blocks also, lol.

That layout had errors that I could keep fixed ,so I am going to look into a similar block style layout or a way to make the recent  featured posts  easier to find without having to scroll the entire front page .

Staff Notes
With the rapid growth of the Indies Idols , Major Idols and even non Idol JPop the  genre has grown to the point that Pure Idol Heart is now actively  looking for more writers to join us .

AKB48 Bimyo ,AKBINGO!
Here is the recent episode of Bimyo

The timing on the first skit was great

It`s been a while since I posted an AKBINGO! Episode ,mostly because I don`t have the time to watch or keep up with every single program every idol group is doing.

Recently AKB48 has been battling SKE48 on AKBINGO! And I just happen to be free when they aired the program the other night .The episode was a good battle between the two groups ,so I looked up a video version to share with you.

Sakura Gakuin : VERISHUVI

Sakura Gakuin : VERISHUVI

Sakura Gakuin is a group that I have not been able to cover in detail on Pure Idol Heart ,largely due to the fact that there is so many active groups both Indie and Major that I can`t cover everyone the way I want to as the only writer on Pure Idol Heart.

Even saying that the response to my post about the Sakura Gakuin members making up BABY METAL , was great [even some heavy metal media sites reposted it word for word or cut it up , but that is a different story ] , anyway the interest overall on Pure Idol Heart for BABY METAL showed me that I need to bring more focus to their main group, so I will try to make them more active on Pure Idol Heart from this point on.

Before getting to their new single here is a brief background .

Sakura Gakuin simply means Cherry Blossom Academy .The group started in 2010 as part of the TOY`S FACTORY recording label and Amuse talent agency. They got their first big media break at Tokyo Idol Festival #1 and by the end of 2010 had started releasing major label releases.

There are 12 members currently in Sakura Gakuin and the group has five sub groups they are Twinklestars ,BABYMETAL ,Mini Party ,SCOOPERS and sleepiece .Each sub group is set to a different theme .

Currently the group is preparing to support their new single VERISHUVI

VERISHUVI will come out on December 21
