Get Sinfulicious! It's yummy!

Hello Ladies,

I was away for a 3-Day mini-vacation last week in Palm Spring, California. It was lots of fun even though it was so hot during the day. I did a lot of shopping of course, and during my shopping spree at night, I saw this one pretty boutique that specializes in skincare/bodycare products. Maybe the yummy scents from the boutique that drew me in, or perhaps its pretty pink and white design, who knew! :) My friends and I were greeted by this lovely associate, Jenna, who demonstrated how the scrub, body oil and lotion were made or mixed together, and also let us tried the products first before we decided to buy some. So, we scrubbed our hands with this pink exfoliating salt which smelled wonderful by the way, and before we could rinse our hands, Jenna sprayed this scented oil to lock in the moisture. Few seconds later, our hands were softer and smoother. And oh, the scent lingered till the very next day by the way. Since we were amazed by the result, and of course by the amazing scent as well, we then decided to buy some. It was actually hard for me to decide on the scents because there were too many of them, so I went ahead and asked Jenna to make me the same one like the one we tried earlier. I think it was a mixture of mango, papaya and another fruit, but I forgot what it was. Ha!Ha! So Jenna mixed everything right in front of us from scratch!  It was indeed amazing to watch (I recorded this!). Basically the bath and body products were made from natural ingredients, and everything were made on the spot upon order, except other stuff like bath bombs, and facial moisturizer.

Anyway, here are the pictures from the store, and you guys can check them out at sinfuliciousbodycare.com. They carry a lot of products for head to toe! If you are visiting Palm Spring, don't forget to stop by at the store!

Hello Kitty Beauty Products

I guess all the Beauty Insiders have received this wonderful news. :) I just checked out the products on Sephora website, kinda too late to place an order (they were having private sales, darn it!) but it's o.k. I'll get them later from Sephora store. I can't wait!! And yeah, I have to admit, I am crazy about Hello Kitty. :) Anyway, I love the products packaging. They are super cute and I I would love to get my hands on the following:

1) Hello Kitty Fragrance Rollerball. $18.
 Style: Sweet. Sparkling. Pretty.

I love sweet fragrances. I cant stand fruity or flower scent so I think this one would be perfect for me!

What I have and love? Hanae Mori Butterfly, Benefit Maybe Baby, YSL Parisienne. This Hello Kitty one will be a great addition.

 2) Bling Mirror. $49.

How cute is this one??????? This is crystal encrusted purse-size mirror, but, is it Swarovki? It doesn't say on the website, so maybe not! =P

3) Nail Polish. $10.

The design is sooooo adorable!!!! I don't mind putting this on my bathroom counter. I won't hide it in my "Nail Product Box"! :) Oh, I had the regular Hello Kitty Nail Polish. Though I knew it was for teenagers, I got it anyways just to give it a try. I didn't like it much.

.

4) Pen Pal Eyeliner - An ultra-precise liquid eyeliner marker. $16

I  AM AN EYELINER GIRL, WHAT MORE CAN I SAY? SO THIS ONE IS A MUST HAVE FOR ME!

Well, that's all I really want to try I guess. :) Do you guys want anything from the line? Or have you guys placed an order? LOL I was late!

PS- I am going to blog about my Christmas Shopping Haul tomorrow!! I can't wait to share with you guys!!

MAC and MARK

I wanted to give a MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation/Loose a try so I bought one! Am I impressed by it? Hmmm, I like it but I am not crazy about it. Unlike Bare Minerals foundation, this does not provide a full coverage. It does a good job though, for a light to medium coverage. Plus the sponge applicator is kind of weird. Maybe it's just me who prefer to use a kabuki brush to apply a mineral foundation. Overall, it is good for a girl who's on the go since the cap has a sponge applicator attached to it.

Also, I got some No Place to Run eyeliners and a Get Bright highlighter from MARK cosmetics. I bought them through a co-worker, who is a MARK Rep. Something different is good sometimes, you know. :) So these eyeliners are supposed to be smudge-proof and last the whole day! Well, I tested them and they actually lasted for more than 10 hours!! The picture below was taken about 8 hours later. I smudged them like crazy but they were still on. :)

Anyway, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all! Enjoy your turkey dinner!

FOTD - KAT VON D Rosary Lipstick - from Tattoo Chronicles Lipstick Set

So I went out yesterday after spending days at home doing my Finance assignments (grrr...too much writing and calculating, my brain is fried!) and I decided to wear one of the lipsticks from Kat Von D Tattoo Chronicles Lipstick set! The color is Rosary and it's actually very dark but for some reasons (maybe the flash?) it looks slightly lighter on my lips! I didn't do any drastic eye makeup as you can see in the picture below. It was just one of those nights where you just want to cruise around the town, eat and do nothing. LOL. FYI, I never wore a red lipstick before just because red makes me look older and weird! LOL. I know red is just a color but that's how I felt until yesterday! And I can say that I really like this Kat Von D lipstick. Well, what I found out yesterday: This lipstick did not dry my lips (I also fell asleep with a make up on! Ooppps! Guess I was too tired =/) and it did not leave any red mark on a straw or a cup!! YAY! So i guess I have found "the red lipstick" for me!! I can't wait to try the rest of the lipsticks later. :)

Happy Sunday!!

My latest purchase! Kat Von D Tattoo Chronicles Lipstick Vol 1

I have not tried any of them yet, but I know I will like them all because they are soooooo pretty!! :). These are miniatures lipsticks from her best selling colors. The colors are: Rosary, Underage Red, Cathedral, Hellbent, Lolita and Celebutard. You know, the packaging really captured my attention when I was at the Sephora store this evening. It is very pretty, which reminds me of hmmm, the bible?! LOL. It is quite stunning! Well... here are some of the pictures!!! I'll post a FOTD later this week :) Enjoy!

Products I Regret Buying!

I am sure every one has these products that they loved when they first bought them, then later they said "what was I thinking?!!!" I got bunch of those. Most of them I trashed though, but I still keep some that I think could be "useful" later. So far I haven't touched them!!  =/ So, here are those items:

1) MAC Tilt.
hmmmm I love blue in general but this blue hue does not work for my skin tone. Or maybe it does, but I am just not into this color!

2) MAC Plum Dressing.
This color is gorgeous but..... I don't know why I don't like it that much. I used it once and I liked it then. Maybe i'll try again soon and see how I feel.

3) AVON Glazewear Intense Plum.
I bought it because it looks prettttyyy on the catalog! LOL. Wore few times to work. It made me look older than my age =/.

4) Sephora Lip Attitude Star S06.
This one is somewhat "plummish" and "pinkish" in color and sparkly! And wow, I just realized I bought a lot of "plums" LOL.

5) Femme Couture Cake Eyeliner.
It's way too drying and cakey. Does not go on the skin smoothly.

6) Revlon Colorstay.
It caused terrible breakout - under the skin kinda zits. Ouch! BUT, i don't mind wearing it once in a blue moon for clubbing. It stays on for hours!

7) Black Radiance Creme Foundation.
I wanted the 'on the go' kinda foundation, but this one is bad. It's drying and cakey. Does not blend well. But now I use it to conceal blemishes!

8) Jesse Girl Loose Eye shadow.
My friend gave me this, and she said it could be a substitute for a MAC Pigment...hmmm??? Nahhhh. She was wrong, but I really don't mind the eye shadow. The color is pretty!

9) Mineral Veil in Tinted Feather Light.
I'll stick to a regular mineral veil. This one is way too shimmery and the bronze color all over the face? No, thank you. I use this to highlight my cheekbones and collar bones. :)

10) Physician Formula Cover in Green.
Isn't this to cover redness on your face? I know it says "Powder Finish Concealer" , but it is way too powdery. Unless I need to cover some red zits, this will be kept in my drawer till then.

11) Victoria's Secret Lipsgloss in Wet. ;)
Catchy name, uh? LOL. This color is exactly like my lip color, so there's no point of me wearing one! I don't know why I bought this. =/

So, I am done with my list. What's yours?? :) Please share!

Organic beauty products at Whole Food. Does anyone like them?

I love going through the beauty isle at Whole Food market as they have tons of beauty products that I am interested to try. However, most of them are somewhat pricey and I don't know if they are really worth the price! There are Dr. Hauschka and this one brand which I totally forgot the name, both are equally expensive; Mineral Fusion Cosmetics; Kiss My Face, Derma-e; Avalon and Earth Science that are somewhat affordable. Whole Food also carries Burt's Bees, which can be found at any drugstores or Target. With all these brands laying around, I am actually wondering if those organic cosmetics /beauty products are better than any regular product out there. I spent an hour today comparing the ingredients on each label, from each product and I found them to be the same! A $50 anti wrinkle cream from one brand here is not any better than Olay from Target or Kinerase from a department store. Well, at least that's what I think since they all contain hyaluronic acid and peptides as their main ingredients. What do you guys think? Are they all the same? With a hot weather and sunny all year round in LA, sun spot and wrinkles can be formed easily. I think I would like to take care of this problem now because I can see a tiny soft line is starting to form! Ughh! LOL. And that shows a sunscreen alone is not enough! It's time to use some good products on my face! :) If you have any cult product that you like, please comment in the box below this post. I would like to check them out!

And oh by the way, I fall in love with these home made soaps at Whole Food. Check out the pictures below. They remind me of LUSH. :) Soooo cute!! And they smell heavenly! I actually bought 2 pieces to try ;). If I like them, I will go back to get some more.

I finally bought MAC Venomous Villains!!

Yep,  I got MAC Venomous Villains! YAAYYYY! I was so busy lately that I did not get a chance to go shopping at all. So finally yesterday, I headed to Bloomingdale's, and played with the whole Venomous Villains sets. They had everything. Nothing was sold out. Unfortunately, I was only attracted to these two items, Innocence, Beware! lipstick and Darkly My Dear blush from Cruella De Vil set. Why?? Because I love, love, love, nude colors!! :) The rest of the sets (Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Dr. Facilier) are in darker shades, and I don't think they are for me. To be honest, I am just scared of colors that are too bright or too dark. LOL :)

Here is the blush and the liptick!

Hypnose Drama Mascara by Lancome.

Hmmmm I don't understand why they named this mascara, DRAMA, because it is not so dramatic. LOL. It lengthens, YES, but it did not help me getting that long dramatic lashes I was hoping for. =/ So far, YSL Faux Cil is a keeper!

Makeup For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation

What it is:
An oil-free medium-to-full-coverage liquid foundation that covers skin imperfections flawlessly while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life.

What is does:
“This foundation creates a soft-focus effect, which is designed to meet the coverage concerns of those in the spotlight. It leaves your complexion with such a flawless finish, it can withstand bright or harsh lighting.”

I am in love with this product, even though I know I could find a better coverage than this one. I bought this foundation for a wedding event not to long ago. It gave great coverage and it did stay through out that night with occasional touch-ups ( I use MAC Studio Fix for that). MUFE HD Invisible is a medium to full coverage, yes, but it is not as thick as the other medium to full coverage foundations that I am used to, like Mac Full Coverage and Studio Fix. For this MUFE foundation, “layering” is the key. The good thing is, even with tons of layering, MUFE HD does not give you a "pasty look". YAY! I don’t want to wear a mask you know what I mean, and first and foremost, I don't want to hear “wow your foundation looks great!!” comment. LOL. Especially not in person, except when we are discussing about makeup/cosmetics!

I dont wear tons of foundation everyday, but for a special event, a full coverage makeup is my ultimate favorite. Go full, that's my mantra. Event makeup is different - with the lighting and all, you just want to look fabulous! And yes, it does give a soft-focus effect which is great for photography. Flawless! The camera can't detect where the foundation starts or where it ends, unless you pick the wrong shade of course. :) The most important thing is not to ever wear a foundation that has an SPF in it, or you will look like a ghost in a picture! I learned my lesson ;)

Overall, I think this foundation is very versatile. For every day wear, this foundation is perfect – one pump, you are good to go, and layer it if you want to have that full coverage look. I think it's worth the money - $40 per bottle.:)

and me wearing MUFE =)

Review: Coastal Scents 56 Blush & Eyeshadow palette

I bought this palette not to long ago. I think the palette is pretty and I love the varieties of colors that come with it. Do not be scared of the bright colors of the blushes because all you have to do is to apply them very lightly! Love the eye shadow colors though, ranging from the lightest to the darkest shades. One thing that's missing is the blackest black color. The darkest shade it comes with is somewhat greyish-black. Well, we can always buy a separate black color. :)  The texture of the shadows is somewhat powdery, but it has a great staying power though. One problem (which can be fixed. ) is that some colors won't show up unless you apply a shadow primer first. Just apply any primer, even the cheapest one from a drug store will do the trick. In my case, I have to do apply a primer all the time since i have oily eyelids! For someone who is on a budget or simply doesn't want to spend lots of money, this palette is great for you.

Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer

I got this sample from accumulating points through Sephora Beauty Insider. I never really care much about samples but this is a Laura Mercier product! LOL. Retail : $30 - full size. This is the product info:

Foundation Primer - Oil Free
This lightweight, water-based primer creates a smooth, invisible layer that acts as a buffer between the skin and makeup. Specialized for oily, sensitive, and acne-prone skin types, its high water content soothes surface dehydration around active blemishes.

My Conclusion: I have used Tinted Moisturizer from this line before. Retail $42 - too sheer, not my thing. Besides it gave tiny bumps on my skin. Guess i am allergic to some ingredients in it. So I returned the product. I also had tried the Secret Camouflage concealer and it seemed to work. I was actually skeptical at first as i never really liked any primer. I tried Smashbox, and MAC, and some other unknown brands and i thought I'd be better off.  They are silicone based and my skin reacted to it - i got ZITS! However, this one doesn't even give me 1 tiny zit and I have been using it for 3 days. YES!! My fear of wearing a primer is over. I'd definitely buy a full size product once i am done with this sample. Oh yeah, it does provide a nice canvas before i apply Bare Minerals =)

FAKE? MAC Hello Kitty Collection.

Normally I can spot a fake item from far LOL ( I have that ability ;) ) but I wanted this limited edition so much that i didnt even care to look at the lipstick real closer. I grabbed and paid the third party seller. It's not her fault i know, but is this fake????? I think it is!

Back to Bare Minerals =)

As i mentioned in my previous post, I had a hard time finding a good match with the Bare Minerals foundation. However, my visit to Sephora yesterday did wonder! I didn't know Bare has come out with a new formulation, new colors and a new design! I like this new sifter design that prevents spills and leaks! (the old design can be pretty annoying - too messy). However, this new design comes with only SPF 15 Matte Foundation. If you want the original formula in this sifter design you can just forget it, since they dont make one. The price for Matte is slightly more than the original, which is $28 and of course i have to pair it with the Mineral Veil, a setting powder that costs $19 each. Am I happy?? YEAH. =) I found my color - The Golden Tan -(description:  made for medium-to-tan skin with subtle yellow-olive undertones). MOI! One thing i like about Bare is that this product is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petro-Chemicals, Phthalates. =)

New Packaging: With the innovative Click, Lock, Go™ component, you can take bareMinerals Matte SPF 15 Foundation everywhere you go—no spills, no leaks, no worries

Organic Matters!

I have becoming so conscious lately with what I use on my face and my body. I have a super sensitive acne prone skin, and yes oily skin sucks but, it does prevent your skin from aging too fast ;) . Last year my hormone went super crazy on me. I was constantly breaking out which became a huge issue so I did acutane for 6 months and my skin cleared up for most part!! I don’t want to continue taking acutane due to side effects, so maintaining my skin after acutane with topical RX is important. In my opinion, the most important thing is to use natural products that don’t cause breakouts of any kind. That seems to work so far. It sucks because I like using variety of stuff, but most products out there are filled with pore clogging ingredients and for that reason alone, I tend to be more careful now with what I use on my face. I have MAC, Chanel, Cinema Secrets, Nars and Revlon ColorStay foundations that I use occasionally, and/ or during the weekends. It’s quite heavy on my skin but of course the coverage is superb and it last all day =) That’s all I need LOL, for clubs and events. However, for everyday use, I prefer MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation and Bare Escentuals/Minerals. Unfortunately, Studio Fix tends to cause mild zits that I dont really care much because the coverage is phenomenal! I just have to remember to take it off later at night when I get home and wash my face with tons of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid to prevent zits from forming. Bare Minerals that I have is way too dark on my skin. I use Medium Tan but the color seems muddy and it makes me look like I have way too much bronzer on my face, and I hate looking “dirty”! The Golden Medium that they have is slightly lighter than my skin color. =/ Since I don’t wanna buy both colors and mix it, I decided to buy Origins Mineral Powder to replace the Bare.

My Conclusion: It turns out great. =) At least I don’t have to do the 2 steps routine like the Bare Minerals: The Foundation and the Mineral Veil, ah way too much! I am into cutting “the steps” now days so one swipe/buff is all I need. So, it’s a Plus! It is sheer to medium coverage, all depending on how much you apply. I don’t like wearing heavy makeup at work so sheer to medium is good enough for me. You can go heavy if you layer it 3-4 times. =) Got blemishes? Just dab a creamy concealer prior to mineral makeup. The best part, it does give a nice subtle glow (I am not too crazy about shimmery and sheen). However, the only problem is the color range. Available Shades are: Light, medium, Medium-Deep and Deep, and I use Deep for my MAC NC42 skin.

Here is the info:

Multi-Grain™ Makeup Fortified with Oats, Vitamins & Minerals SPF 14

√ 91% agreed skin looked naturally radiant

√ 78% saw an improvement in their skin

Start skin’s day with the wholesome goodness of nutritious, organic Oatmeal (nature’s famed skin soother); Soy (a source of radiance); Tapioca and Rice Flour (to smooth and refine); plus Barley, Wheat Germ, Pomegranate, Goji Berry, Vitamins C and E and all-natural sunscreens (to fight skin-aging). The soft, finely-milled grains build and blend easily from sheer to full coverage. Won’t clog pores, cake or dry-out. Skin glows with good health.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance

To All Makeupalley Girls:

I have this up for swap. It’s Too Faced Shadow insurance. For those who don’t know, this is a primer for your shadows so they can last for hours. Plus it also intensifies the colors =) Neat, isn’t it? I tested once. Reason for swap: I still have the Urban Decay Primer Potion and Mac Paints. =/ I tend to buy stuff that I don’t need sometimes. PM me if you re interested.

AVON

So I bought these 2 Glazewear lipglosses from Avon’s rep., Marcia. Yep, Avon. I’ve never thought I would buy an Avon product, but Andrea (she’s awesome!!) made me wanna try some. She says she likes Cappucino color in one of her youtube videos. And I was like, heck I wanna try that one too. It is simply because the color looks gorgeous on her! LOL. However, Avon doesn’t carry Cappucino any longer (sob! sob!), so I got these 2 colors instead: Intense Plum and Mocha Latte and I think they are beautifullll!
My review on these colors:
Intense Plum color complements my MAC NC42 skin, that's for sure. I always wanted to try plum colors but kinda scared. However, this color is very subtle =) I highly recommend it! And the Mocha Latte reminds me of MAC Viva Glam V, but Mocha Latte has more shimmer. Glazewear texture is rich and thick and it is not sticky at all! To be honest, I normally get tired of a product so fast, but I’ve been using Mocha Latte everyday though =) So there, Avon is not bad at all.
